Open up a voice message attachment. This will start the media player on your BB. While the media player is active, hit the main BB button (the one that looks like a blackberry). This will bring up a menu of options. One of the choices should be “Activate Handset”. Choose this - and the audio should play back from the handset, not the speaker phone.

Really, that’s it. You can then download the attachment, which will automatically open and play in your BlackBerry Media Player. It doesn’t take too long to download, or at least it didn’t for me (Verizon in NYC). While the file is small, the voice quality is surprisingly decent.”
